Wayne Nannup, CEO of the Aboriginal Legal Service of Western Australia will reflect on his rich experience with the Criminal Justice System in Western Australia. The talk will be a reflection on Wayne’s experiences of the Criminal Justice System in Western Australia through the varied roles he has had over his career, including at the Aboriginal Legal Service of Western Australia, as former CEO of the South West Aboriginal Land and Sea Council and as a former Director of Relationships Australia. With family connections to Western Australia’s South West, Pilbara, Goldfields, Mid-West and Kimberley regions, Wayne brings a wealth of knowledge and a strong commitment to the complex issues facing First Nations Peoples within the justice system.
The Toohey Oration is a UWA Law School public lecture, held every second year, named in honour of High Court judge John Toohey (The John Toohey Oration : The University of Western Australia)
