Cherished connections

Studying Italian at UWA allowed me to go on a year of exchange to Bologna University, which was certainly one of the most valuable and enriching life experiences I could ever have hoped for. In addition to the education and accreditation I received from completing my degree, I was also able to form some incredible friendships and connections through my time as a student at UWA.

Fulfilling a passion

I have worked in various marketing roles since leaving UWA including radio, cinema advertising, online and print, and I started my own marketing and social media consultancy business, McNaught Media, in July 2016.

In 201i9, I also became an approved Digital Marketing Advisor for Business Station, as part of the federal government ASBAS program, to help increase digital literacy and proficiency for business owners through delivering one-on-one coaching and group workshops.

My passion is using my writing and social media skills for content creation. I love coming up with creative methods of storytelling for brands and businesses to help them communicate with their target audience in the digital realm.

A life of learning (beyond university)

The most interesting aspect of my career is that I have the opportunity to work with businesses from many different fields and learn about their industry while I am developing their marketing strategy. I am also constantly learning and evolving my skills to keep my finger on the pulse as social media changes at such a rapid pace. My goal is to be known as a social media expert in Perth and to help business owners achieve success through their online presence.

Words of wisdom for new students

My advice would be to start every day with gratitude, as we are so fortunate to be able to attend such a beautiful, prestigious university in our own city and network with students from around the world! Cherish the connections you make as they could be lifelong relationships if you nurture them.
