Entrepreneurship is my passion
Although I come from a traditional academic setting as a researcher, my determination to setup an enterprise around my academic qualifications has been my driving force. Entrepreneurship creates jobs and empowers people financially. I want to keep that going as I come from a family legacy of entrepreneurs and I want to continue creating jobs and opportunities for well trained professionals in the life sciences domain. I want to build a lasting institution that far survives the people who founded it.
The pursuit of innovation
Trying to be ahead of the curve and thinking of where the future of science would be, in my opinion, is the most interesting aspect of my career. As a Founder & CEO, I have a responsibility to tread the company in a direction that has long term impacts of not only the longevity of the enterprise but also the financial outcomes that bring value to our investors. I am on the constant pursuit of innovation and cutting edge technology.
Lasting friendships
Some of my best academic experiences were gained at UWA. The quality of the professors and the general atmosphere had been very conducive for learning. I enjoyed the lectures and more importantly, my interaction with my professors very much. As part of the International Students' Committee, I made some lasting friendships and got a great opportunity to meet people from different countries. My UWA experience altered my thought process and outlook to like in a positive manner.
Research and critical thinking
Without a doubt, my UWA degree has helped me in my career initially as a scientist and also an entrepreneur. It is important to recollect that a supposedly nondescript unit called Science Communication that I took on as a student at UWA has now actually impacted me the most in my enterprise. Of course, my scientific fervour, my approach to research and my critical thinking abilities came from my primary course of study. I think the general exposure to my education at UWA positively impacted my personality as a whole. Will always be indebted to the experience.
