My passion lies in automation
As an Engineer, my passion is to work on automation. During my under and post-graduation studies, I have carried out many automation-related projects and internships. I would like to apply my knowledge for environmental protection and improve the efficiency and productivity of the business I am working for. Currently, as a Process Control Engineer in a consulting company, I am working on application integration and designing mining underground operations.
In my current role
I am really inspired to go into the office every day as my organisation gave me the opportunity to explore one of my more innovative ideas; designing an underground mining operation project. I also have an opportunity to work on my passion for the automation-related project. I am sure with these projects I can help the organization work more efficiently.
My UWA experience
I have actively participated in the Student Guild department as an office-bearer and as President for postgraduate students. All these opportunities helped to enhance my leadership qualities, communication skills, and more importantly, I got really good friends. Studying at UWA helped me work on design projects with Jacobs Engineering Group. Design projects and Internships are a very important aspect for me because they gave a boost to my resume while I applied for Graduate Engineering roles.
The flexibility of a UWA degree
UWA’s post-graduation curriculum is designed to develop multiple field expertise which helped me acquire knowledge for all business needs. I have realized that the UWA Engineering degree is for all, i.e. Food Processing, Consulting Organisations, Energy, and Mining Industries.
What advice would you give to someone just starting their studies at UWA?
UWA is an academic ocean with many opportunities.
