My passion

Is to help as many people as I can by sharing my own skills and experiences. There is definitely still a long way to go but I have always considered myself a very lucky person and I hope that I can share this with those that may not be as lucky as me. This is also the main reason why I wanted to be an alumni ambassador here in Hong Kong.

Keep your curiosity

The most interesting aspect of my career is getting the chance to meet with great people, either internally or externally, which is something that I really enjoy. Being a Relationship Manager (RM) means that I have the freedom and autonomy that most other jobs don't offer.

If you want to be a RM, I guess the most important thing is for you to be genuinely interested in things that happen in the world. Keep your curiosity.

UWA helped shape me into who I am today

UWA has always been a special place to me especially after graduating a couple of years ago. It is a place where I got the chance to meet great people, be it lecturers, or friends who shaped me into who I really am today. People I met along the way at UWA were truly nice considering, as an international student, I could be counted as an 'outsider'. Still, people I met at UWA accepted me for who I am and truly embraced the differences that we might have.

How has your UWA degree helped you in the work you do now?

The first thing I would say is the knowledge that I gained during my years at UWA. All lecturers and tutors were so helpful and so willing to share their own experiences with the students; knowledge that often extended beyond what could be found in a textbook. The second thing is the people that I met along the way which have helped build up my networks and connections even after I left Perth and headed back to my hometown Hong Kong.

Who is Ross Tse?

Born and raised in Hong Kong, but also embraces different types of cultures.

I am currently serving as a Relationship Manager (Multinational Corporations) at BNP Paribas.

Prior to joining BNP Paribas Group, I was a Management Trainee in Hang Seng Bank as well as an intern at HSBC, National Australia Bank, PwC, Hang Seng Bank and The Vistra Group in which I gained both hard and soft skills by working across different sectors.

I completed my Bachelor of Commerce with a major in Finance at The University of Western Australia. During my studies, I actively participated in different extra-curricular activities and took on various roles in different clubs and societies, such as the Cantonese Student Association and University Squash Club.
